Helpful Hints for First Time Dancers

For new young dancers, the excitement of being in the studio with all of the activity can be overwhelming. It’s not unusual for it to take a class or two for the student to become comfortable and confident. We want dance to be a positive experience for everyone involved.

For older first-time dancers we ask that they relax, listen, do their best, and have fun!

The class descriptions are a helpful guideline.

In order to have a positive and successful experience, dancers need to be placed at the correct level for their skills and age.

Studio Policies

Arrive on time but please avoid early drop-off and late pick-up.

Please treat the studio, dressing area, bathroom, lobby, and possessions of others with care and consideration.

All dancers and parents are asked to clean up after themselves, use proper trash and recycling receptacles, and neatly store their belongings while at the studio.

No food or drink is allowed in the dance room, with the exception of water.

Please bring your own reusable water bottle when possible.

Photography or filming is not allowed without instructor permission.

Please be conscientious and respectful to everyone.

Honesty and integrity are expected.

Students with less than 75% attendance are ineligible for performance.

This is a very special environment for all of us! Be a friend! Dancers will respect their fellow dancers and will be friendly and welcoming to other dancers at their studio and in their classes. Let’s extend this warmth to the other dance artists in our community.
